COVID-19 Humanity Betrayal ㅤ Memory Project

My husband started feeling  sick over the 22 New Years Holiday he we went to the urgent care on 1/1/22 and 1/2/22 but they were closed due to the holidays he didn’t want to go to the hospital so he waited till Monday  1/3/22 .

My husband went to PIH urgent care in Montebello Ca on 1/3/22 they dx him with Covid-19 and influenza A .He was told him if he gets worse or can’t breath go to the hospital they sent him home with cough medicine .
My daughter and I had planned a trip out of town with a friend  to get away for a bit cause I had just buried my mother two weeks before. My husband thought is was good  idea cause he wanted to rest and needed to quarantine for we won’t get sick.

We called him daily throughout the days he said he was ok just really tired . I thought maybe his PCP can prescribe antibiotics so I called explained his dx from urgent care to the doctors office .The doctor did  prescribe antibiotics that was Tuesday 1/4/22 . When we arrived home Friday my husband was still feeling sick he did not take the antibiotics like prescribed so we got him on back on track he just wanted to rest and wanted NyQuil  to rest he ate very little. I was getting worried cause he still had a very dry cough and still very tried so I called the frontline doctors in Texas they made him a telephone appointment for Monday 1/10/22 .But on Sunday 1/9/22 he was very slow to respond to my questions I was going to get an oxygen meter but I told my daughter we better call 911 they came got his oxygen level up to 80 they took him and that was the last time I seen him alive .
I called the hospital spoke to his nurse told her I did not what them to give him remdesivir she stated she would note his chart  and he was doing fine.

Later that night I got a call from the ER doctor she said my husband was lethargic and needed intubation she said she ask him if he wanted all measures to be done to him to save his life he agreed ( he believed her ) i again informed the doctor I did not want him to take remdesivir. She said to me I work at Kaiser as well  and they are begging for it. I said my husband is a diabetic I don’t want anymore issues.   I asked for ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine  she said no and laughed. My husband was in the ER for  two days On 100% oxygen then he was transferred to ICU. I was trying to research what could be done at this point.  I came across a interview with a doctor out of Texas I called him left a message and with great surprise he called me back he told me to get him on budesonide it will help him . I called to speak with the doctor in charge of my husband I asked if at all possible we can try  budesonide he said no your husband is very sick  I said can we just try he said no it’s like putting a cup of water in the ocean .
I called back the doctor in Texas he told me to get a ethics committee meeting and sent me information on a advocate I did this is now Wednesday 1/12/22

With help from the advocate a zoom meeting was set for 1/14/22 she presented facts on budesonide as I begged for right to try.  Later that day I was called in by the chief of staff for an in person meeting .With  the doctor from Texas on my cell I went in the meeting the doctor spoke with chief of staff I think he thought he was an attorney . I left the meeting with a new doctor and he was going to try the budesonide for five days .They started it that night within five days my husband was off the ventilator . Our family was happy . I got a call from the infection control doctor he said he is taking my husband off antibiotics and he is off his case cause my husband no longer had pneumonia..  I also received a call from the physical therapist they were working with my husband she said he thought he got in a  car accident . I spoked to his nurse he said he was very thirsty and drank water . I emailed the new treating doctor I didn’t want my husband to have a relapse he is sitting in the ICU with no antibiotics he said he would get back to me. So my husband sat in the ICU for four days no budesonide no antibiotics  this now the 1/30/22 on the fifth morning I get a call from his nurse my husband had a seizure that morning and a fever of 107.  Now a new infection so now the infection control doctor is back on with antibiotics they were giving him seizure medication on Monday 1/31/22 my husband is back on the ventilator . Now his kidneys are failing he needs dialysis it just keep getting worse by the day he was on three different blood pressure medications his liver levels are up  his heart is slow he has septic shock my husband died on 2/5/22 . We were never able to visit my husband until the day he died watching him code through a glass window when he was dead they let me and my daughter in all gowned up with face shields on . I don’t know yet when they injected him with remdesivir no one at that hospital was happy he got off the ventilator it was all very weird it’s like they wanted him to die
