COVID-19 Humanity Betrayal ㅤ Memory Project

My husband was healthy and active. On July 23rd, he developed sinus symptoms with cough. Five days later he went to ER since urgent refused to see him.  A COVID test was done and was positive. I was immediately told to leave, and I waited in car. I was so frustrated since I couldn’t advocate for him. I’m a RN.  He was discharged with no medications such as steroids, inhalers; berated for not being vaccinated.

Next week, called the VA for ivermectin, steroids, inhalers and appointment.  My phone calls were never returned for a week. No urgent care would help me or the school clinic at the school district where he worked, would help me either.

A week later the VA finally called, but his oxygen saturation was very low. I wanted an oxygen order, but I was told to call an ambulance. He was transported to a local hospital. He was admitted for 14 days in ICU on high oxygen, given Remdesivir, tocilizumab and antibiotics for a few days.

I begged the ICU doctor to stop Remdesivir and give Ivermectin, and he laughed and said no.  I told him to look at same studies I had, and he say they’re quack studies, and he said I was a fool.  Only one chest X-ray was done during his first stay. I asked for more, and was refused.  Concerned about secondary bacterial infection, I asked for more antibiotics and was refused.  My husband stated he was looked down on by the hospital staff for not being vaccinated. The doctor even told me if he died, it was on me.

He was discharged after 14 days with no medication except for oxygen and no chest X-ray.  He was having trouble voiding, very short of breath and low blood pressure.  After three days home, he was much worse, I called every urgent care in Medford and the VA for help.  He didn’t want to go back to the hospital.  Finally got the VA who wouldn’t see him, and got muscle relaxers for severe chest spasms.

The next day his saturation was very low, color gray; called 911 again.  When I was able to talk with ER doctor, he had a severe bacterial pneumonia with sepsis, blood clots and collapsed lungs.  He was placed on bipap, chest tube placed, multiple antibiotics given and transferred to ICU.  I was told he most likely would not make it.

Remdesivir was started again, against my wishes.  A Covid test was done.  I was asked to leave the hospital again. I went to urgent care and begged for a Covid test, so I could be with him.  We both tested negative, so the next evening I saw him for about an hour.  At that point he was back on high flow oxygen.  He talked to me briefly since it was difficult for him.  I left at change of shift, and told the nurse do not ventilate him under any circumstances, put him back on bipap if needed.

I went home to sleep for a few hours then go back to the hospital.  I received a call a couple of hours later, and they ventilated him.  I couldn’t believe it.

Four days later, I made him a no code and told them to remove the ventilator. His lungs were so damaged and his kidneys were failing.  I couldn’t watch him suffer any longer.  I demanded that the ICU doctor stay out of his room.  He died in my arms. Government protocols killed him. The hospital even put the cause of death as Covid.
