The Interview with Steve Reiter
Stephen R’s Story
Steve and his wife, Mary, met when she was 16. In 1971 they married, had children, and also grandchildren. Life was good until through a series of events, Mary required spinal surgery to alleviate excruciating pain. Their 50th wedding anniversary was celebrated in the hospital in December 2021.
Mary required rehabilitation after surgery. She was transferred to Life Care Center of East Ridge from Sisken Hospital. Ultimately Mary was diagnosed with Covid on January 24, 2022. She was returned to Baroness Erlanger hospital in TN where she had started her medical journey. During this entire time, Steve never left Mary’s side until forced to do so by police.
On February 3, 2022 Mary was placed in the ICU. Within days, Mary’s oxygen level plummeted. The family was called in for an end of life visit, and Mary passed away February 10, 2022.
For over 50 years, Mary and Steve were always together. The American Covid protocol continues to unjustly separate loved ones. It is well known that those who have the physical presence of a loved one by their side, have a much better chance of recovery and survival.
Steve and all of us at the Covid 19 Humanity Betrayal Memory Project want to know why hospitals have protocols that do egregious harm, many resulting in death, rather than supporting patients.
We must stop any protocol that violates Patient Rights. That is our commitment to Mary’s memory and the beautiful life she shared with Steve.
