The Interview with Heather Ellixson
Heather E.’s Story
Jerry and Heather Ellixson both tested positive for Covid and it was recommended by their general practitioner that Jerry go to the ER because his symptoms worsened by September 13, 2021. Heather was not allowed to enter the ER with Jerry and there was no phone or cell service available for communication. Just four days later, Jerry would be in the ICU and vented. Jerry was a healthy 51 year old that was not diabetic nor had any blood pressure issues.
When Heather was finally able to see Jerry after he was already intubated in the early morning hours, she requested alternative protocols and was blatantly told that it was against hospital protocol. Jerry continued to decline, therefore the hospital contacted Heather, and the family went to visit. With the family around his bedside, his vitals improved and the doctor’s seem stunned that this happened. Each time Heather was allowed to visit, this pattern would continue, but the nurses would berate her “maki ng her feel like dirt” because they were not vaccinated.
Jerry’s condition was deteriorating rapidly with multi-organ failure, yet given more medication. Heather questioned the nurse, and it was confirmed that, “he was going to die anyway.” On September 29, 2021, the family agreed to stop all treatment and let Jerry go. Jerry’s family always came first, and now Heather is left with being a single parent to her children and feels that this “travesty” was very preventable if alternative protocol would have been administered. DEATH by protocol is what the family agrees to as Jerry’s cause of death, not Covid 19.
